We are so happy to announce the arrival of a whole ton of new designs from the French Slipper manufacturer Collégien. Perfect for Christmas gifts, stocking fillers or just adding to your matching Christmas pyjamas (do you do that?), these slipper socks are perfect for keeping toes cosy without slips, during the winter holiday season. With designs ranging from cartoon Raccoons to glow-in-the-dark Clouds, and exclusive collaborations with Nununu and Snug Studio, there should be a design here to suit everyone.
Collégien slippers use European sizing. You can use the size conversion chart below to find the right size for your child. The ages shown are approximate however, and should only be used if you don't have the child's shoe size.
For comfort Collégien recommend you to go up half a size in these slippers. For example, if your child's feet are European size 29.5, you should get the size 30-31. This applies with all sizes.
Collégien pride themselves on being a family run company, based in a small village in the south-west of France. Founded in 1947, for more than 4 generations they have been manufacturing socks, tights and now slippers, using Egyptian cotton with added Lycra and Polyamide for stretch and durability.
The unique design of these slippers means that we've found they stay on better than traditional slippers or socks, while the moulded rubber soles are great for keeping warm without slipping and sliding on wooden or tiled floors. The extra soft flexible soles have little bumps for added grip and are perforated for breathability. Added to which, if they get mucky or stinky you can simply pop them in the washing machine at 30º!
Yup, that picture is a rolled-up slipper. Told you they were flexible!
You know how it is, you go off to visit friends or relatives for the day and the kids are trailing mud, so its shoes-off-at-the-door-please. Within ten minutes they have ingested half their body weight in festive sugary treats and are racing around pretending to be Darth Vader or something. Almost inevitably, and faster than you can shout "Pass me an Eggnog, aunty Sheila" someone in socks has skidded over on a slippery floor and the tears are flowing. Avoid all that drama (and get to the dubious Christmas drinks a little quicker) by popping a pair of these slipper socks in your day-bag when you go visiting. Sorted!
I'm not usually very good at getting organised ahead of Christmas (every year I vow to get my cards in the mail before the last posting date, and fail!), but why not start your preparations now by choosing your kids some new Collégien Slippers. That way, by the time Christmas actually arrives you might get a chance to relax for 5 minutes, just as long as no-one got a lightsaber from Santa....
